I finally managed to get to RAF Mildenhall & RAF Lakenheath this week for a spotting trip, this is thanks to a good mate of mine who was kind enough to get me there from Luton. Anyway here is the first day's results, it was only half a day in reality & we "only" caught the based aircraft at Mildenhall & a Ramstein based C-130J-30 in the overhead going into Lakenheath.
The second day was still stupidly hot but there was a fair bit of cloud around making photography a little tricky especially at Lakenheath where we spent the morning, there was a lot aircraft movements especially the F-15C & D's with them doing surge training. We went back to Mildenhall in the afternoon & it was pretty much dead until the evening when a USAF KC-10 came in after dragging 4 Saudi F-15SA's over the Atlantic. The highlight though was another MC-130J circuit bashing as the sun was going down, as you'll see the light was spectacular
Cheers,
Martin

Day 3 I think was the best day for me, the weather was still stupidly hot but there was wall to wall sunshine pretty much all day long. The F-15's at Lakenheath were still doing surge operations so the F-15C's especially were very active. Before the E's came out to play we relocated to Mildenhall as I saw a white top coming in on radar, it happened to be an RC-135U Combat Sent & that has been the catch of the year for me so far. Also the U-2 that diverted into Mildenhall a few days previous departed with a proper racket & a howl similar to that of the Avro Vulcan, there's a video on YouTube by Airshow World that illustrates what I mean, if you watch the long version & cut to when the RC-135U comes in you'll see my ugly mug pretty much straight after it lands talking about it. Anyway on with the photos
Final little update from me comes from the Thursday morning in which 4 F-15SA's from the Royal Saudi Air Force departed after staying overnight on a delivery flight, the light was terrible & the clouds were also pretty low so they're not great shots. We went home pretty much straight after these departed
