After many fruitless efforts, inspired by the MAIW airshow I set out to try and understand how Mike does his amazing flypasts, and finally I seem to have got the basic idea (although not as refined as Mike of course). As seen over Benbecula...

It's already out there as an effect. I am using it for the Pope Field package (that's been in development forever!). The trick would be to get them all to drop at the same time or near the same time.

As Dan said there is an AI paratrooper effect available that works quite well for AI airdrops. I actually had one included in my original version of the MAIW airshow, but I couldn't include it in the release version since none of the AI cargo aircraft in the previously released MAIW packages that I used had the effect installed.
Extremely interesting. Makes me think of real flights of 2 or 4 F-15s or C-130s that sometimes pass over Elmendorf then break into the landing pattern following each other to landings.

An often mooted idea, but as yet no realistic way has been found.
