Re: Coming Soon: AI VFW-614 for FSX
Quick Update on the VFW-614. I did first tests in the Sim and the model works as expected. Now I will work on including one or three lower detail models as LODs. I hope I finish the whole thing this month.

Will flight plans come with it?

Re: Coming Soon: AI VFW-614 for FSX
Yes I will include flightplans for the three aircraft used by the German Air Force but I still have to decide to which airports they will fly to. The aircraft will be based in Cologne and will fly to a few airports from there.

At the moment the cockpit is black because the cockpit has its own material applied to it which is black. I will however UV unwrap the cockpit parts so you paint it in every color you want to in the paintkit

So is the glass opaque or transparent - does the cockpit have an interior?

Re: Coming Soon: AI VFW-614 for FSX
Good news regarding the VFW-614 model. I created a cockpit with some pilots. The model itself is pretty much finished now so now I will create one or two models to be used as lower LODs. I also will make the reece version planned for the Marine and the coresponding flight plans for this aircraft.

Yes indeed, that's better. How many polygons (mesh triangles) do you have in the primary model?

Re: Coming Soon: AI VFW-614 for FSX
The main model (standard variant) has 3013 triangles. The Marine version will have a few more ad I need to include a few radars and some AS34 missiles.John Young wrote: 21 Feb 2025, 20:54 Yes indeed, that's better. How many polygons (mesh triangles) do you have in the primary model?

Re: Coming Soon: AI VFW-614 for FSX
Cimber Air in Denmark flew some of these on domestic routes from EKSB Sønderborg to EKCH Copenhagen. And as memory goes, Ingolf Nielsen from Cimber Air flew these also on promotion tours, at least around Europe.
Jorgen
Edit: I remember Mr. Nielsen loved the ease of maintenance of the overwing engines, and seeing a photo of him standing on the wing in that process.
