Post by KevinJarvis »

Here a some pix of the Russian AI package that I was finally able to download this weekend. It also includes some pretty decent scenery, although I concentrated on aircraft pix for this post.

Hey Kevin,

do you have the scenery for Kubinka installed ? If so with the UNNT package it is worth to visit that base (west of Moscow). With the traffic slider set to 100% you will need a good PC for nice framerates

Drew,
This is posted in the 'military aircraft design' forum here at MAIW.

It can be a bit difficult to download b/c of the code you must enter, but keep at it and you'll get it.

Here is an exerpt from that post:

Go to Avsim.ru and find the traffic file for the UNNT scenery. It has alot of Russian AI military aircraft included. The scenery is awesome too.

Good Luck,

Cheers Kevin, I must've missed it.
You don't have to put those codes in if you register on there :D
Downloading it now :)

Hey sprocky,
Where did you find that scenery?
I've looked at Avsim and Flightsim but no joy.
I'm now searching Avsim.Ru, but it's pretty time consuming even with the translation...LOL.
TIA,

Hi Kevin,

I am not sure where I downloaded that scenery. Could have been this file

http://www.avsim.ru/files.phtml?action= ... D%EA%E0%20

Look here for a screenshot (FPS not displayed  ):

http://www.militaryaiworks.com/forum/vi ... php?t=1930

Кубинка is the kyrillic way to write Kubinka (Z25S).

Hm, thought I downloaded that file from somewhere else. But this was the only file I could find. If you need help searching the russian sites for files just let me know. I did not know that I would need my russian skills after over 18years now :D

Kevin,

one thing I noticed especially on the russian sites is that the AI packages (textures/flightplans) sometimes contain some syntax errors. Look carefully into the aircraft.cfg and aircraft.txt lines they provide to aviod annoying search for errors later when these aircrafts do not show up. As there exist sometimes two or more different AI models for aircrafts (such as IL-76) be sure you have the right model as sometimes the used model is not named. Another thing to obey is that some flightplans contain airport entries that you will need an AFCAD file for as they are not provided by the default MS version.

One hint for an easier search: mark "Не показывать видеоматериалы
". This will hide the videos.

AI Самолеты для трафика FS2004 = AI aircrafts
AI Трафик и AFCAD файлы для FS2004 = Traffic files (may include complete packages) and AFCADs
Сценарии для FS2004 = Scenery files

Now go ahead and fill your sim with russian stuff !

Jan,
Thanks for all the tips regarding Avsim. Ru. Your tips are very useful as even Bablefish can be a bit confusing after translating.
I look forward to searching that site.

Now that I have the scenery installed, here are a few pix.

Frames are not too bad. Although I have an ancient machine by todays standards. I know they're not anywhere near what they should be.

Next project is to get some of those Flankers flying...LOL.

I have some AI usable Sukhois that I will soon be installing to that scenery.

After downloading the Russian UNNT pack, it adds several airports, some of which don't have AFCAD's. I did a couple of quick ones just to show the traffic. I also added one of the Flankers that are AI friendly.

Kevin,

which airports did you create AFCADs for ? I did not take a look at the flightplans yet.

Is the a/c in the first pic an AN-12 ? Has this one been included in the UNNT package ? Have not seen this one before.

Where did you pick-up the Flankers ?

Jan,
I had to make a quick AFCAD for Z25X.

And yes, the Antonov is part of the package. I had not seen it either until today.

The Flanker is part of Bill Wolfgen's Flanker-exported pack that you can pick up at Simviation.

I think I included a link in another post regarding Russian AI.

When I find it, I'll post it here also.

Ok..here is the download page at Simviation http://www.simviation.com/fs2004military69.htm

Look for this file: Su-27B/UB/Su-30MKK Exported Package.

There is also quite a few repaints for this package.

No flight plans with this Jan. This is only the Flanker aircraft with multiple repaints and models.
I used some of the UNNT flight plans for their Su35's and replaced them with the -27's. Now I have both at multiple airports.
