Farewell to the Panteras

Post by Javier Tapia »

Today September 19 in Chile, celebrating the Day of "Glories of The Army" a 4 aicraft formation of Dassault/ENAER Mirage Pantera (Mirage 50) passed by the parade marking the last public pressentation of this aircraft, with its final operation day on december this year.
The panteras have been in service for over 27 years in the Chilean Air Force (FACh) beeing Chile's first Mach 2 aircraft
Also, Grupo de Aviacion n°4 will dessapear and its members dispersed in the other groups.
But this story has it's bright side, a 3rd F-16 (F-16AM, from the Dutch Air Force) squadron will form (thow not in Punta Arenas)
Just a short story to honour those beutifull aircraft that soon will dessapear from Chilean Skyes.
They did made a flyby over my house to say goodbye jajaja (you dont see aicraft very often were i live)

Unfortunatelly I don't have any photos of this aircraft but in Airliner.net you can find some good one

Thanks Javier,
sometimes we miss the details of changes in Air Force inventory. Good to get an update.
