I am here in yuma listening to my scanner in the hotel room
and a harrier has just crashed in the range.
They have launched SAR and there is a compnay harrier orbiting over the crash site. There was a civilain heli with flir nearby and they were talking about the border patrol picking the pilot up if he is ok. Lets pray he is. WOW, this is not a joke it is 1023pm here in yuma. I will let you know what else I here tonight on the scanner about this.

Any news of the pilot. Really hope he's OK.

Many years ago when I worked for private warbird collection I was the last to wish "good luck" to a pilot who left to fly to an airshow display but his a/c crashed on approach to the display and was killed. Left me in shock for days.

One of his friends said that pilots life on the edge and when something like this happens it puts everything in perspective.

I don't know why, but when an aviator goes down anywhere in the world, doesn't matter his nationality, I always worry for and if necessary grieve for him and his family. All who love flight have a special bond - a band of brothers. My hope and prayers for him. Keep us up on this.
