When were these taken? Very interesting to see the Jaguars up there, wonder what they'd been up too. Just a shame they're all retired now!

yeah i thought they were retired as well, just like i left the base in 2003 because it was closing :)

it was a few months back, don't want to give an exact date for safety reasons. it was interesting see military ac there didn't ecpect to see any.
i know for sure that the f-15's are no longer there tho.

Everything I find regarding VMFA 321 states that is was decomissioned several years ago....?
If so, then how did this bird get there?

don't know man, like i said, the base was supposed to be closed as well...
just read that as well deactivated in 2004 lol i don't know.
also read that their last flight was a mishap by the commander, only thing i can think of is that they still kept the plane for whatever reason, i don't know.

According to scramble this particular aircraft is wfu being used by NASA. Last seen Feb 07. Assigned to Edwards.

interesting...so wouldn't nasa repaint it? or atleast remove vmfa 321 from the ac? i don't know anything about navy/marine planes but the nasa planes i've seen at edwards are in nasa colors.

One would think... however, it is entirely possible that they decided not paint it because it will be returned upon completion of some kind of test(ie. some form of cold weather testing). It might end up as a static somewhere or perhaps as a show bird.

The Jaguars were retired and scrapped last year. Those must be old pics.
