Grrrr guys I need help. Ive installed FSDS v3 into my new system on Vista. I have also set it all up with MakeMdl as it was on my original system but for some reason MakeMdl is running automatically it isnt stopping and allowing me to input the LODs. For some reason it isnt working at all.
HELP HELP HELP.

I thought that, but I knew about that and like I said I had copied the files directly from my other laptop on which they worked fine. It just wont work. I thought it was maybe .NET framework v2 cos it says that if you dont have that it can affect some of the SDK programs, but Vista says you cant install v2 cos it is already installed. Like I said FSDS v3.5 does all the LOD stuff for you so Ive got it to work but i was really puzzled.

No mate.
What should happen is, you make the LODs in FSDS. then when you compile it makes seperate .x files for each LOD. MakeMDL will auto start and compile only ther main model and not the LODs unless you make it simply open so you can enter the various LODs yourself. To do this you must rename MakeMDL.xml to MakeMDL.parts.xml. This makes MakeMDL not auto run and complete its cycle and allows you to manually enter the LOD models.
My problem was despite having MakeMDL.part.xml properly mine was still auto running. FSDS v3.5 however seems to do all this itself without you needing to manually input the LODs. Just make sure LOD400 is your main model. It was a complete bugger before I figured out what happened.
