With LOD1 = 60k and LOD2 = 20k ACM2.5 polygons I could hardly call her "AI" but anyway, hats off for another nice retro fighter!

Hadn't really checked it out (seeing as I like my AI to be up to date), but at least we now know!

If you'd look at the website, you'd see it was by Thomas Nilsson, creator of the better (flyable) Draken model.

This is an interim version because I begged Thomas so hard. When he will release the Full FSX package, a real AI will be included.
The FD for this model is very crude and not comparable to the flyable Draken. This is especially noticable at approach and landing, where the AOA is far too low. As the AI approach procedure is hardwired into FS9, the AI cannot be "trained" to fly the approach in a proper way for Draken (12 deg AOA, 85% throttle, etc.). I am still experimenting with this to find a solution.

The LOD400 model has 35000 polygons, LOD100 has 12000. Textures are the full 3.2 version 1024px 32-bit textures. This means that there are still some performance issues if you have lots of these things in the air simultaneously. The full release later this spring will include an AI model with a substantially lower poly count.
The other good news is that a Viggen is on the horizon as well. This will be done by NovelAir. They will pick up work on their Viggen FSX. An real AI model will most likely be included.

Add a Gripen to that which hopefully will surface sooner or later and then I can imagine a very cute trio :D

The Saab 35 Draken v3.2 release will defiinitely not be a full FSX package. It will include an FSX-flyable stripped-down version without radar, and the AI will work in FSX. But I would not call it an FSX package since much of the functionality is missing in FSX.

Cheers /Tom

Yes, I definitely could have phrased that better, Tom.
Now you did. Thanks.
