I saw those nice pics in the screenshot section. As I could not find the mentioned package on avsim I thought I could create the AFCAD file for the default carrier near San Francisco myself. Well, I must have been made something wrong. When I launched FS the carrier was sitting on top of the created "airport". I guess the carrier is an object that seems to be placed on the ground level. So when I created the AFCAD at the deck's altitude the carrier was "lifted up". Any idea how to solve this (or where to get the mentioned package )?
Thanks.

Hi Jan,
The reason you can't find it yet is that the package is not finished yet. Never fear though you will hear a lot more about it as it nears completion.
On the afcad front, the guys are still making sure that the technique works. As you know though once it does work the information will be given out on the forum.

sprocky,
First the CVN-68 Package.zip download by P. Strogen is available at the following link:
However, be please advised that that package does not include what you saw in my screenshots, since I made my own AFCADs and FP's for the NBAI F-14's.
Secondly to fix your problem you need to make 2 AFCADs, one at the carrier's deck level for the AI to use and one at sea level to flatten the ocean immediately around the carrier. The latter usually just needs to include an 800 foot wide apron route down the centerline of the deck at sea level and extending out beyond both the bow and stern of the carrier.

sprocky,
I don't think you have to be registered, but maybe you need to go to the Downloads section and try downloading it from there. That package is listed as Carrier - USS Nimitz class - CVN-68 with Escorts (Static/Landable) (FS2004) in the Naval\Carriers section.
One thing I forgot to mention is that the invisible carrier flatten AFCAD has to be installed in FS9 at a higher priority than the functional carrier AFCAD or it won't work. One easy way to accomplish this is to create a special Carrier Flatten scenery folder in your FS9\Addon Scenery folder to hold all your carrier flatten AFCADs and install it above any of your carrier scenery folders in the FS9 scenery library.
Thanks for all your replies. Will have a closer look when I've got some more time. Unfortunatly right now there is just enough time to hop through various forums I regular visit.
