Still learning IS - here's a bit of NAS Rota

Post by Ford Friendly »

I think I'm gettin gthe hang of this Instant Scenery object placement thing. The key is obviously having the models to work with - and since I don't do GMAX, I'm at the mercy of what's in the scenery bgl's I already have installed. So, all credit for any models used goes elsewhere - not to me.

I've combined AFX with some Instant Scenery placements atop a Rota photoscenery from Avsim - certainly not perfect matches for the buildings nor is the photoscenery completely up to FSX resolution standards, but, it'll do for now.

So, here's a bit of NAS Rota/LERT.

Looks good I was thinking of doing a Rota but if you release it I will just wait for yours :)

I made this for my FSX installation. I don't even have FS9 installed any more.

It contains so many FSX objects that it's "unreleasable" as freeware at this point.

Also, the mix and match approach I've taken while not paying particular attention to which items I've included from which original modellers/authors pretty much makes that a surety for the near future at least.

If you were going to make a Rota scenery, I'd be interested in what you come up with. Mine is a hodgepodge of "I'm satisfied" parts and "totally unacceptable" ones. Then again, it's better than the FSX default for me.

The problem is that is a frame killer....but they are working in a lighter version...

Ford,

This is absolutely no argument against a freeware release. Just make sure you say which version of the flight simulator this scenery is made for. If you have used Acceleration objects as well you need to make this pretty clear in the description, because then is is not FSX compatible per se.

Sooner or later most sceneries will be updated to FSX.
Cheers,

Sorry. I always understood that any release was ALWAYS at the discretion and determination of "the author". End of "argument".

Release whatever you like, Ford, I will not argue your decision.
It contains so many FSX objects that it's "unreleasable" as freeware at this point.
If you don't want replies to your posts, you should say so from the start. But don't get nasty as a reaction to positive and encouraging comments. Such behavior is just not appropriate.
