It's out @ Avsim! Including flightplans!

Thank you so much!!!

"Antonov An-2 for AI Traffic Complete Package

File Description:
Low-poly AI Antonov An-2 by Rysiek Winawer. Features 10 different visual, 7-LOD models, many animations and eye-candies. Flying on FDE by Mike 'Magic' MacIntyre. A paintkit by Mike Pearson included as well as 7 repaints. Expect military package(s), including the model, thanks to Military AI Works (MAIW) group members. A custom made Ketrzyn-Wilamowo EPKE scenery included, utilizing some EZ-Scenery library object (it will work without them though, an included AFCAD file and traffic BGL files are the most important). Demo flightplans included. You may design own flightplans as well, using RPP_FPGen sheet. The An-2 is the largest single-engine biplane ever produced. By 1960 the USSR had produced over 5,000 units. Since 1960, most An-2s have been built at Poland's WSK factory in Mielec, with over 13,000 made there before full production ended in 1991. Limited production from parts stocks, as well as spares and maintenance coverage continues. China also builds the An-2 under license as the Shijiazhuang Y-5. See readme file for all copyrights and additional info.

YES IT IS

I decided to upload the stuff already as the plane is as important as GA same as Military somewhere.
There are many juicy cookies embedded into the packages (that's why I called it "complete").
Especially the paintkit by Mike Pearson, which I encourage you may use to repaint An's in hundreds different real-life liveries :P
Don't miss 'magic' FDE by Mike 'Magic' MacIntyre, when you spot the stuff flying 8)

I've waited eagerly for this ever since you anounced you were working on it! I am very pleased to add it to my sim world as soon as it finishes downloading. Thanks Ryesik, so very much!

For those that haven't been following this thread from the begining, it would be worth your time to read the whole thing. It will give you an idea of the amount of time and effort it requires to create an AI model of this quality and complexity...

Thanks guys!

BTW- for those who have seen recent Indiana Jones 4 - have you spotted that there is An-2 playing its role in the movie?
Would be nice to have "Indiana An-2" livery

At first I thought, what the heck am I going to do with a AN-2 .

Now that I have it, I have them flying all over the place. What a great addition! :D

Brilliant release that adds a great new aspect to my AI, just one question, EPKE does not seem to have an exclude to remove all the trees and buildings from across the airfield - I have aircraft and taxiways there. (It is entirely possible I am doing something wrong in the install) BTW I am running on the default FS9 scenery. :?:
Thanks again for a great release :D

Oh, I see ...
I did not have problems on my config that's why looks like attached AFCAD does not contain exclude rectangles ...
Sorry about that, what I may suggest you right now is that you may try one of those freeware utilities to generate exclude by yourself:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=fs ... gle+Search

EDIT:
Some further investigation led to a finding that I use:
Aerodromes of Poland by Wiktor Gut:
http://library.avsim.net/search.php?Sea ... &Go=Search
So I propose that you download and install this add-on as well, you'll benefit that most other airports in Poland will be enhanced over FS2004 default. The package contains exclude stuff.

The An-2 pack is my custom compile, that's why there was not as strict quality assurance as is done for MAIW official packages

Our Russian friends start to use Mike's paintkit:

A classical civilian:

Even more classical military:

There's also a suggestion to add a model variant with a long exhaust tube:

Maybe ...

Will contain Long Exhaust Pipe model (thankd to Avsim.ru forum feedback):

... as well as Winter Conditional Ski (or Wheel if warm) model (TWO in ONE!).
Will have to test a condition though (based on ZULU MONTH OF YEAR variable) ...

V1.1 is ready and uploaded to Avsim.com:

"Low-poly AI Antonov An-2 by Rysiek Winawer, v1.1 update.
Contains 3 additional models (plus flightplans).
There are two basic models featuring a long exhaust pipe (instead of a standard short one) plus,
for the first time in FS AI (?) Ski_CondWinter - being TWO models in ONE: when its cold outside then the model features skis and winter cover,
when its warmer then the model has fully working wheels!
Thanks Scorpio9999 and foxtail from russian Avsim.ru forums for the feedback and ideas that I used as background for this v1.1 update."

Great as always! Thank you very much for this wonderful model!

Can we expect a MAIW package including this bird in the future?

YET ANOTHER UPDATE, v1.2

Sorry about that but An-2s were tested in detail on the russian side 8)
There were some suggestions and this ended in:

"Low-poly AI Antonov An-2 by Rysiek Winawer, v1.2 update. Contains a new version off all the models (basic from v1.0 and additional from v1.1),
LOD transition distance is generally reworked and a propeller cap texture problem is now corrected. As a make-up I included new LEP_Para and Sleeve models. Thanks INS from russian Avsim.ru forums for the head up. You will need both previous RWAI An-2 packages."

As there is some interest on this model on Avsim.ru forums (what I hoped of), some future enhancement is very possible.
Mr INS is working over Mike's paintkit (he is the painter for Samdim Design and CIS Traffic project):
