Flight Planner Problems
I have to admit, the first time I tried to understand Rip's program I managed to confuse myself. So, for a while I just left it alone.
However, one day I needed to make a flight plan for 4 different aircraft doing a number of different things, and being basically lazy, decided to use Rip's program come hell or high water.
This time around, I managed to understand the following: You must have a basic understanding of how to use Excel - for example, how to insert/delete rows exactly where you need them, how to copy and paste from one cell to another, how to use the menu system to copy a sheet and rename the copy to the name of the flightplan you want to create, and an understanding that his program is a workbook consisting of several separate spreedsheets, some of which are basically just tables of data that you can copy and paste into the main flight plan creation sheet.
I learned that if the above is true, that then you should just follow along step by step with the three flightplan creation examples, as doing works better than just reading, and by the time you start the third example, you WILL understand how to use his program. Soon thereafter, you will dance around the room, then try and tell everyone you know how great this program really is. Absolute perfect, error free flight plans every time with very little effort on your part. Wooo Hooo
