KNJK ??????

Post by Hub_Fink »

Just wondering if anybody has ever had any luck with creating a custom afcad for NAF El Centro. I have never been able to get ai a/c to successfully land or take off.
I've read before that the fact the airport is under sea level, kinda screws with fs9.1

Anyone have a solution?

Altitudes less than sea level will not usually allow satisfactory operation of AI. Generally, less than 1 metre under sea level is OK but in your case it is 13.1 metres and it is unlikely to work. AI wil show on the airport but will not operate correctly.

I think it gets back OK below -1000 ft (I spotted this when tinkered with Israeli airfields)...
Kinda of FS bug :(

Good! Cause I thought it was me forgetting to do something in the afcad .

Thats a shame. However, I bet with the talent at MAIW, someone could figure it out.

BTW
Graham, your the man. I have just about all your repaints for my M/ai.
Thanks for everything you and all the good folks do at MAIW.

My bad. The names have changed but the sentiment is the same.

Re: KNJK Perhaps devotion to reality should be suspended, and the mesh in the visinity of KNJK should be amended to equal sea level. I don't think an upward adjustment of 13 feet, done carefully and far enough away from the airfield so as not to result in a plateu effect, and the ability to have AI behave properly should be a justifiable reason. Don't you think so?

I surely agree. No one has ever mentioned tackling it around these parts, though.

I gave up on NJK and just flew out of NYL/Yuma. Now with the USMC Harrier package on the verge of release, more reason to stay. I would put my work into the other OLF's around NAS North Island instead.

It is metres guys not feet - 13.1 metres or about 42.5 feet!
