MAIW Florida Orions

Post by lewis »

Ok guys. Good news. For all of those that have Jim Dhaenens "Jacksonville NAS_(knip)", the "MAIW Florida Orions" package works almost perfect, only one parking slot goes into the west hangar, but everything else falls in place. Just need to remove or save in a back up folder, Jim's "AF2_KNIP.bgl" file and use all of MAIW included scenery files.
Some screenies. Lewis

Just about to check into that as well Lewis. I wanted to check out the seawall where I spent most of my time at Navy Jax with the helos. I'll add the helo parking spots and NADEP parking on the SE side.

Did you use MAIW_excludes for KNIP or did you remove those from the scenery folder? Greg

....Ok so just to clarify...I should remove the KNIP afcad from the KNIP scenery folder, then move all the MAIW excludes and afcad to the KNIP/scenery folder? I love the scenery, but it seems as though he has some sort of afcad hard-coded into the KNIP.bgl...I will give it a try. Thanks for another great package!

No. There are 2 bgl files in John's scenery. You just remove/save in a backup folder, the file "AF2_KNIP".bgl", do not remove the file "KNIP.bgl". Then install the MAIW Florida Orions as is, you will end up with 2 addon sceneries that will merge into one when activated. The MAIW package "AF2 KNIP.bgl" will establish the parking order. Works perfect on my system.

Tested last night. I've got some VP-30 birds parked in the helo spots, no big deal and should be an easy fix. The scenery brings back memories, old hangar worked out of was there in the right place. Just need to check the AFCAD out. 32/14 is hardly used and only by the helos and Navy Flying cub C172's, with the P-3s using 27/09. There is a "no-fly" area just north of 32, someone that lives close to the base doesn't like the noise.....figures!

Can you explain where you put the MAIW blg files? Cause I have John scenery and put the MAIW bgl files (AFCAD and exclude files) in the addon scenery/scenery folder, but the MAIW AFCAD is not being reconized. The scenery is still using knip.bgl as the AFCAD.

The "knip.bgl" from john's scenery is the scenery itself, (hangars, tower and all of the scenery objects). That takes care of the visual part, Then the MAIW bgl's, take care for the parking order and acfts parking areas. Install the MAIW package as instructed on the readme files. That's it. You should be up and good in no time.
