Gaggle of Mentors

Post by MIKE JG »

An entry from me, although as a judge I'm just participating for fun, my entry/s won't be eligible for the contest.

A flight of three Mentors peeling off in formation.

Yea it's already in the plans. Just go to Whiting North, use a program like Traffic View Board to see the departures and find a group of three or four T-34s that are all leaving at the same time. Then change locations to where they are heading and make the time about 5 minutes ahead of when they are supposed to arrive. Once you load up the new airport, immediately look for the T-34s as inbound arrivals. If you catch them early enough, you will get a shot like I did where the aircraft all morph out of one another and eventually spread out a bit. But at first, they are all on top of each other and when they first separate, you get a formation of AI aircraft. But it only lasts for a couple of seconds unless the flightplan separates them by altitude and time to intentionally get a formation flight.
