OMAL Autogen

Post by alexrfixit »

Screenshot of OMAL showing errant autogen buildings (see Package Support forum, "Export Hawk packages by MAIW (New Additions!")

No big deal, I'd just like to put it right if I can!

Wow!

Do you have some sort of scenery addon there, or is that all default..
Not sure how a beta could miss that!?! Have to drive through 10 houses to get to runway!!

I was one of the Beta Testers and they were not there in the testing with scenery at max. I suggest that the excludes are missing or corrupt somehow.
No buildings at Al Ain on my setup.

I have the 5 OMAL exclude files in the Addin Scenery/Scenery folder - will try downloading again to make sure they're not corrupt. AFAIK I don't have any other scenery addonns in this area, but will do another check. Thanks guys!

Mine looks exactly like Alex's, so I don't think its a corruption, it maybe that we have a common addon.

So a reinstall is not going to fix this one me thinks. We must have an African landclass or FSGenesis in common.

Tried a re-download and re-install, same result. A question, on the screenshot Steve posted the airport seems to be surrounded by open desert - on my system it is towards the edge of a large city? (see screenshot)

Alex, have you tried OOTH yet? I have the same problem to a lesser scale, trees all over an Apron and buildings dotted around taxiways.

Steve, I think you've hit it on the head! Do you have an Afrca Landclass add-on by Jim Keir installed? Tried disbling that and OMAL is out in the desert now (as it should be according to Google Earth!) Didn't think of that at first 'cos I never thought of the UAE as being in Africa!

BTW, am I missing something? All I have at OOTH is a runway - no taxiways or anything?

Yes, I only have the default for OOTH - should I have an MAIW afcad or is yours from a package that's not released yet?

Steve if need be, an airport background polygon would exclude all that autogen and tidy up the airport.

Mike, yeah I was trying to do that but it seems that my limited success for a certain Hungarian airfield was a bit of a fluke as I can't get it to compile now*sigh*.

Ah well, will come back to it when I have more time.
