Russian Fighters, I'm so confused

Post by MIKE JG »

OK, so I'm watching the show "Dogfights" on the History Channel, the episode about future dogfights, which is really interesting stuff btw, when they mention MIG-35s.

I must be behind the times because, to me they looked like MIG-29s. So I did some online research and it seems that the MIG-35 is an updated version of the MIG-29 with fly-by-wire, better avionics and thrust vectoring. Is that all there is to the differences or is there more than that?

Then I started comparing the Su-27, Su-33, Su-35, and the Su-37 and now I'm really confused?? I certainly wasn't paying attention in class that day. :D

ok this is the scoope on the mig 35 from the article i read in combat aircraft, the a/c that is in the air at this time is a technology demonstrater, similar to the su 47 berkut, the mig 35 however is an upgraded mig 29, the one in particular is a twin seat model and has upgraded radar and engines, the new engines are comparable to the su 35 which is the russians thrust vectoring demonstrater, in which the mikoyan gurevich installed on the mig 29 and inturn redesignated the model the mig 35, so to hopefully try and ease some confusion, the mig 35 is just a mig 29 with thrust vecorting, to say the least
