Russian Military Traffic
I've downloaded the AI Russian Traffic pack (http://www.avsim.su/files.phtml?id=2754&action=comments )
But even though it installed correctly I cannot see any traffic at Engels where I'd expect to see Tu-95 and Tu-160s. Any idea why.
TIA
John

John,
I had a quick look and found no Tu-160s at all, anywhere, I accidentally caught them at FL450 with gear and flaps down and then they disappeared.
I think its an fde issue but haven't looked closely at this.

I'm not sure this is directly relevant to that traffic pack, but -
The Tolmachevo AI Tu-160 zip file which is also available on that website has an apparent error in the aircraft.cfg file, it seems to me.
The aircraft_parking_types enntry is completely blank. You might check that.
Edited to add - Same type of issue with their AI SU35 and AI Mi8MT.

I modified the aircraft.cfg file and I now have Tu-160s at Engels. I need to add exhaust smoke and try to remove the landing lights which are on all the time.
I'm also going to mod the FPs as the 160s take off in a mass scramble which maybe OK for one day of the week but I think it happens every day.
Now to do the Bear...
Bed calls...
Cheers

Well Steve, I don't know what I did to make them work. I just played around with the entries in the cfg and they appeared! Here is my entry in the cfg.
[fltsim.0]
title=AI Tu-160 01
sim=Tu-160
model=
panel=
sound=
texture=
sound_alias=
kb_checklists=
kb_reference=
atc_id=0005
atc_airline=AIR FORCE
atc_flight_number=0005
atc_heavy=0
atc_parking_types=MIL_COMBAT
atc_parking_codes=T160
ui_manufacturer=Traffic
ui_type=AI Tu-160
[General]
atc_type=
atc_model=
Note that the atc_parking_types is now MIL_COMBAT and that the GENERAL section is empty at the moment. Also I removed the visual_damage line.

Steve, also check your times with TTools or AITM to see when they are at Engels. I've noticed that no Bears are based at Engels which is wrong AFAIK.
The 160's seem to be there at odd times of the week. Will do more work tonight. The 160 model has no burners and the wings don't swing as far as I can see. We really could so with a decent one! The Bear is quite nice though.

Ta John,
I had already used ACA2005 to check the times and places and thats how I managed to get that high altitude find, what I did notice is that the wings did swing though although probably not as well as Nick made the B-1.

I did notice that they park with the wings swept which is correct as they too long and heavy to leave unswept when on the ground.
