Once I've done all the RAF ones. I'll do USAF ones on request.
There were quite a few units in Europe in the early '70's. However the USAF had a fairly generic camouflage scheme, so for AI purposes I guess it would just be a case of adding the tail fin code which was in white, together with the last three of the serial number for the particular unit after you had the paint scheme for each variant sorted.
There were four variants: F-4C, RF-4C, F-4D and F-4E.
F-4C: 401TFW at Torrejon, Spain with tailcode 'TJ'
81TFS/52TFW at Spangdahlem, Germany with code 'SP'
RF-4C: 10TRW at RAF Alconbury, UK with code 'AR'
26TRW at Zweibrucken, Germany with code 'ZS'
F-4D: 36TFW at Bitburg, Germany with code 'BT'
48TFW at RAF Lakenheath, UK with code 'LN'
50TFW at Hahn, Germany with code 'HR'
52TFW at Spangdahlem, Germany with code 'SP'
81TFW at RAF Bentwaters/Woodbridge with code 'WR'
86TFW at Ramstein, Germany with code 'RS'
F-4E: 36TFW at Bitburg, Germany with code 'BT'
50TFW at Hahn, Germany with code 'HR'
32TFS at Soesterburg, Netherlands with code 'CJ'
I don't know whether Ferdinand Martinez will be releasing an RF-4C but if not, the F-4E is fairly similar in outline and would 'pass' in AI.
Still game?
