Cuba in FSX

Post by Ford Friendly »

While at my young friend's house today, he showed me a scenery he'd installed quite a while back but I hadn't heard of at all. It's a complete rework of Cuba for FSX. Not only does it have a reasonable, but far from perfect, NAS Guantanomo afcad, it's got 92 other airfields just waiting for military and/or civilian traffic.

File Description: CubaFsX scenery of Cuba completelly renouvellet and adapted to new FsX. It includes 93 airports and enhancements in the landscape. 325 cities are very detailled and have colonial custom buildings and harbors. Permits flying VFR an IFR The big longitude of this island and the lenght of the coast (5000 km perimeter including the keys) it has been necessary divided in sectors. Cuba East ans Cuba West. Each sector contains it own airports.

I don't know how I missed it. It's definitely worth a look if you're going to base Mig-29s in Cuba, do some long-range recon flights from Murmansk to Havana or try your hand at some U-2 overflights.

If it's anything like his scenery of Cuba for FS9 then it will be exceptionally good.

There are a few issues... most notably the use of FS9 trees and the associated "Black transparency area".

But overall, considering the scope of the area covered and the date this was made/uploaded to avsim, it's good enough to be activated in my sim for now.
