Pull the canopy jettison if you want and just cruise around in convertible mode. It eventually returns after a short time.
Otherwise pull the eject handle (make sure the seat is armed) and hang on....
Riding the rails........
Seat separation....
Chute opening.....
Under canopy....
It all happens so fast, I have to slow the sim down to 1/4 speed to get screen captures of it. What's funny is that the cockpit restores itself after a small wait, pilot and all. During that time the plane does not respond to control imputs because the pilot (you) is not it the aircraft!!
When I can get the slide show to stop.....LOL. Notice the anti aliasing isn't working so well in these shots. This is with the model set up with the VC only and most of the VC features turned off or way down. Probably need more RAM (1.25GB currently) as it seems to be eating my memory up pretty good. But still some more things to work through to get the performance up to par.
Well right now I just loaded it up with both the 2D and VC, VC settings pretty much at their lowest setting and I'm getting 6-15 FPS on all views, lowest while in the VC view of course. But it's certainly playable although flying from the VC is a bit tough because of the slow FPS update rate. The FPS jump around quite a bit and there doesn't seem to be a good reason why. Many other users are experiencing this jumpiness and I think eventually someone will figure out what is going on and get it settled down. Honestly it's about the same FPS I would get with the freeware SuperHornet from the Japanese designer. My biggest fear was shelling out the cash for this and not being able to use it. I got about what I expected and have no regrets about getting it.
Here's your carrier shot, and no I haven't figured out how to do a cat shot just yet.

Logitech Extreme 3D Pro Joystick
NEC 21" LCD monitor
Running some tests right now with the FPS locked at 20:
External spot view with clear skies, pretty much all FS9 sliders turned off, with both 2D and VC enabled (most VC items off or lowest settings), I'm averaging about 17FPS
2D view with same settings I get about the same 17FPS, mind you the aircraft is not powered up yet.
Mike just thought, if you turn off FS flying tips it helps with the FPS stutter. But a seasoned pilot like yourself probably got them turned off anyway.
i'm getting good frame rates untill i go through heavy clouds, pretty good at the airports as well.
has any one else had problems with the BALT Hold? even while staying level hittin the BALT hold makes the plane pitch up 600-700 feet.

Yes it seems to turn the A/P off so you have hit Z to turn it back on.
