Blown Away!

Post by MIKE JG »

Blown away by this thing. It's not really an addon aircraft. It's more like a completely new simulator that exists inside of FS9. The learning curve is going to be steep with this one and as always with anything this complex, the frame rates on my older machine are less than I'd like. But with some much needed computer tweaks courtesy of the VRS support forums, they are getting to be bearable and should eventually be ok.

Long live FS9!!

Hi Mike

Glad you made the investment. I'm still wading through the manual! Yet to master landing it on the runway. I've got it down but usually in someone's backyard

Its certainly a learning curve (or as one of my old bosses would say a "learning cliff") Love the way TACAN drops out when the signal is lost in a valley. Very realistic. Having watched the Discovery series about training Canadian F-18 jocks at Cold Lake, I've have picked up some pointers. Even they screw up landings before they get it right. But we have no instructor in the backseat

Only one moan. Its a pity the pilot is still in the cockpit when its parked up and not in flyable state, see Mike's pics to se what I mean.

Thanks Adam, I've not got that far yet, but somehow I thought it may have been the case. Loving every minute of it. How about Eurofighter Typhoon for the next release. Similar a/c and performance?

Mike (and everyone for that matter), I'm glad to see you made the jump. I hope she serves you well. We are going to be taking a very critical look at the issues related to frame rates as soon as we get fired back following this holiday season. I can't make any guarantees, but we may be able to provide some improvements in coming patches. If you are connected to the Internet when you launch the ACM it automatically checks for updates, so when their available they will be at your fingertips. Thanks Folks for the kind words. Your support and enthusiasm about the SuperBug is very much appreciated.

Mike,

from your pics it looks more like an object for studies than an aircraft to fly in the sim

No kidding!

I said on another forum that this will be my last FS9 aircraft payware and probably payware of any kind. Really other than maybe a 2 seat version of this, there's nothing left that could ever come close to this.

Adam I am actually learning quite a bit by following the FPS discussions on the support forums. Like anything this new and cutting edge, it will have some minor issues. But so far everything looks like it has a good solid foundation and any issues will be overcome eventually. I think the FPS issues will also be overcome once we all learn to tweak our systems.

Dino you need to ask over at the VRS support forum as this issue is specific to each type of controller so there is not a universal fix for it. But I know I've seen someone over there with the same controller getting help so check it out.

Thx i found the solution indeed in the Forum by VRS.
Solution is invert controller axis in assignments and disable force feedback.
Stunning plane !!

Yes she is the best a/c ever made for FS9 IMHO. Almost makes me want to get FSX for the improved FSX version!

Not sure I would go that far yet........ Only time will tell. It IS the best military aircraft simulation ever made for FS9, of that I'm sure.

Here's the official VRS promo video:
