New civvie stuff

Post by Firebird »

For those of you that have, or maybe even like civvie stuff  , there are three new quality AI models on Avsim this week, all three are screws rather than blow-jobs.

Firstly from the previously unknown OSP there are separate models for the ATR72-200 and ATR72-500, and if anybody wants to know I have it on good authority (ok then, an adult said so in another forum) that he will be doing the ATR-42 as well.

Finally those fellas over at the Fruit Stand have released the TFS Q400, I am guessing here that as its the largest model that the -300 and -200 won't be two far behind.

I have been busy replacing PAI jobbies that I have installed and I must say that all 3 are quality. For the ATRs, they don't have flaps on take off and need slight contact point adjustment but that's about it.

I wonder if WoAI made any adjustments to the ATR when they started including it in their packages.

I wonder if we could persuade OSP to produce one/some of the modified ATRs used for maritime patrol, etc. Then we could also justify this thread on the basis that they're military

It would be nice however after checking Wikipedia there seems to be no mil ATR-72s and only 8 lumpy ATR-42s, so we may be out of luck but there is no harm in asking.

Of course, Wikipedia could be so out of date that there are dozens of the little blighters around  .

Good heads up, although it hadn't caused a problem for me. Yet.

As to the OSP flaps, one of the guys in the AIG forums says that they will be done in a future update.

Nice. I wasn't too concerned as it was his first models and they are better than the PAI ones but it is nice to hear that he is improving his knowledge. Fair play to the guy.
