I seem to remember that Christian Meunier had parachute drops from C130s? in his French Mil package some time ago. I don't remember how it was done but I know specific aircraft done the drop so I think it was an efffect to a particular aircraft.

Another variation from Canada...I would like to share them with anyone who may be interested, however I've attempted contacting Graham King who did the original paint from which this was done, and am still awaiting a reply. None of the special schemes have been tackled yet, as I simply wanted to have AI CP-140's at CFB Comox & Greenwood.

This is probably a stretch.... Does anybody know how, or if, you could simulate a P-3 dropping fire retardant at a waypoint? Like I said before, I know very little of FDE's, but it would be pretty cool. It's also pretty hard to get the lead planes in right in front of the fire bombers. I suppose I probably need to use many different AFCAD's. If anybody has any ideas, they are greatly appreciated. I have actually started to get serious about this project, for once! I don't think it falls within military AI, and I know it doesn't fall within civilian AI, either. Anyone with any expertise to share is more than welcome, and much appreciated.

One of the many reasons I am doing this is because of watching a Smokejumper DC-3 land at my hometown of Stanley, Idaho, with one engine, and only 4300 feet by 100 feet to land, (on dirt) with one engine. I remember watching it circle for an hour burning fuel (or building up some balls!) till it could actually fit. (Stanley sits at 6400 feet, with 10,000 ft plus peaks in all quadrants.) It sat in Stanley for most of a month while crew replaced an engine. And I knew a number of people on the Salmon and Challis N.F. Helitack crews, as well. Add to that, the two guys that actually helped me get my "real" pilots license flew air attack for the F.S. I have always thought that this could make a really cool F.S. setup to watch. If anyone cares to help, let me know, or P.M. me.

@CAFedm
Do not fret sir, your wish is on the way.
No, don't ask :lol: .

@MLMC
In theory you could do this, but you would have to build an event into the model that triggers an effect, if I understand it correctly.
There is a rather nice effect build into a model that is coming in an update of ours in the near future. I won't spoil it but when you see it you will know it.

I'll take that and assume you all are about oh, thirty steps ahead of me! Not sure in which direction, but way ahead of me! I always wonder where you guys get the time?!

Its not easy, mate, and its all about sharing knowledge so that each little advance or idea does not have to be re-invented.
