In case you missed it:
AI Flight Planner has recently been updated to version 1.6 and is available at various download sites.
There's an excellent writeup and very detailed user's manual online at:

One of the "value added" aspects of this program's documentation is the interspersal of explanations/discussions of the differences in how FS9 and FSX AI flights are handled and discussion of the "37 minute problem".
Other than RipPipPip's for-Excel spreadsheet, I have usually relied on earlier versions of AIFP when not "handcoding" ai flightplans.
