Hello gyedema,

Did you use AI Flight Planner to compile any flightplans? If you did, did you compile them as FSX or FS9 flightplans?

If the latter, and you have a mix of both FS9 and FSX flightplans in your Scenery\World\Scenery folder, then the FSX ones won't show up. You have to have all of one or the other.

So my suggestion would be to recompile them in FS9 format or convert all the others to FSX format.

Good luck :)

Ey CelticWarrior,

Yes, I did use AIFP to convert the flightplans, and I checked if there are more FS9 flightplans (no there aren't).
I have been contacting Don Grovestine last week rather intensively, and think I have a bit of knowledge of his program. I followed the instructions of Martin Grossman (owls nest) and did the conversion with AIFP.

My own (FSX) flightplans show up on the airfield and act like they were expected to act. However, if I add a Chinook in those flightplans, no chopper shows up whatsoever. On the entire field. I have 1 milcargo parking spot left (44m) and several milcombat parking spaces.
Eurocopter (just another one I picked) showes up nice.

I checked the simobjects/MAIW folder: everything is there. The fsx.cfg file is altered with option 6: the MAIW folder.
In Don's program I'm able to see the aircraft. I can add it to my .bgl, compile again (without errors) but.....: no chinook nowhere on EHLW....

gyedema,

as said over at FSDeveloper, I will update the tutorial to reflect the new AIFP version and then come back to you regarding your traffic not showing up.
Cheers,
Martin

Martin,

I must have done something very wrong. But what? I removed all traffic, installed again y the procedure and guess... I have a CH47 at EHLW...!

I will try to find out what went wrong the first time.

That is good news, both in regards of your AI skies and my description

Nevertheless I will change and adapt the tutorial to the new AIFP version and maybe through in some more screen shots. Then I will release it together with the Texture Replacer and Shortcut Creator tools.
Cheers,
Martin

But still: no traffic at all at the original field (Simmons). I guess its somethiing with the airfield not recognized in AIFP.

Do you have the traffic (CH/AH) running at Simmons in FSX, Martin?

I will check and come back to you on this one later today. As for now I have updated the tutorial and have published the current versions of the other tools.

Can you please check that the Guide is in synch with AIFP again?
Cheers,
Martin

I have the full MAIW Simmons package running in FSX without fault.

Have you double checked that the traffic file is correctly installed in your \Scenery\World\Scenery folder and that the AFCAD is installed in your \Addon Scenery\Scenery folder?

If you have modified the traffic file using AIFP, can you confirm that the aircraft entries match those in the aircraft.cfg file?

Do you have other MAIW packages installed and working? Or is this your first?

There are dozens of things which could be causing this, but it usually it comes down to a simple user error (without wishing to sound patronising).

Well, I see both CH-47s and AH-64s.

Maybe you have to raise your traffic density settings? Which value have you set? Set to 15% I see 2 aircraft, with 30% the airfield is filled.

Martin

Traffic Density is set to 100%.
All seems to be in the right place; only: if I check the flightplans after conversion to FSX, I see that AIFP reports airports that does not exist in the airport.dat file. Those airfields are the ones with the cyphers in it; so the military fields I guess.

Apart from no traffic at all (only all the other generic traffic I have installed for FSX, like AA, KLM, CA, Ryanair etc etc), I see no choppers at all...

@CelticWarrior: no offense taken; you are absolutely 100% right in that: must be a user error somewhere. I agree. But where....?
Will check again thist week; been away a few days.

I have installed serveral MAIW packages to FSX. The scenery is showing up in FSX with a small amount of aircraft at NAS Meridian and Lakenheath. Other packages have no aircraft at all. I did use the tutorial on this post but have had little luck with ai aircraft. I do have the traffic settings set to 90%. Do I need to modify the AFCADS in FSX for the AI aircraft to show up ?? If so how do you modify the AFCADS ?? Sorry for the dumb questions.

The Meridian package came with scenery from John Stinstrom which had plenty of parking spaces and the correct size. The Hawks take a 7.0 m radius in FSX. The default scenery had very little parking. I am wondering did you install the Stinstrom scenery correctly, and activate it in your scenery.cfg file using the pull down scenery library menu? Just a thought. If you installed the scenery correctly, you should see the main hanger on the ramp that looks like below.

Hmm.. looks like I have a QF-4 visitor from Tyndall AFB!

Thanks for replying to my post. My ramp at Meridian doesn't lookl like that. I have T-45's in the hangar but not on the ramp. Kingsville doesn't have any aircraft. I must of done something wrong when installing. Thanks again....

Well, I have modified some of the ramp, so yours might not look quite like that. The Hawks according to AI Flight Planner require a 7.0 m radius in FSX. While the 7.0m radius in the MAIW afcad should work, I have noticed I changed mine to 7.1m. I currently do not have the afcad that came with the MAIW package, but I seemed to remember that the parking radius of the spots in the hanger may have been larger, which would be why you see aircraft there.

Thanks Rick....I think I am just going to try reinstalling everything. I noticed I don't have any other AI traffic like airliners, general aviation...etc etc .

One final question .....How critical is it to do step 4. (substitute FSX for FS9) on Celtic Warriors FSX installation procedures ???
