They are sort of, in the usual ham-fisted Brit way of doing it. They don't have the aircrew trained, I believe but willing to be corrected, so they are sheltering some and turning others in christmas trees. One Block 5 was delivered and immediately used for spares :roll: .
Also there is a mad scramble to get Block 1 and 2 aircraft through the R2 upgrade process at Warton to turn the T1/FGR2s into T3/FGR4s. Its a right mess. I have been watching it closely for months and airframes are being swapped from Sqn to Sqn and there are a mixture of versions on each.
I believe that the current plan is that the Leuchars wing will be the ones to receive the Block 8s currently being delivered (Yes, I know 17 Sqn have the first two but that would make sense).

There are rumours of the UK trying to sell Tranche 3 Tiffs on to a third party to reduce the overall numbers. My idea is you may not need them now but you will in 20 years time, so mothball them. Properly though, not just shovel into the corner of a hangar.
