Hello,
I recently decided to create a more realistic AFB Louis Trichardt/AFB Makhado for FS2004, to be used with the SAAF Gripen/Hawk package.
A friend was asked to design the buildings and hangers on the base. He used FSDS and created some very nice hangers and buildings.
I was responsible for the layout of the base.
Now its time to put everything together, and this is were we are stuck. It is possible for him to place the building in FS2004 using FSDS, but only at the default point, the Seattle airfield. Nothing happens when he change the coordinates to the correct location at our AFB. In the past I used a long code, text and then bglcomp.exe to create the bgl file which contains the locations for all the new buildings which I then insert into the add-on scenery folder. I have notice if we export his building as a XML Scenery Header, I can see in the XML file a similar code. However, it doesn't work, even if I copy the bgl to the add on scenery/scenery folder.
Can someone please advice me on this.
Thanks

There are a couple of freeware object placer programs floating around out there, ObjectPlacerXML by Arno G. is one of the better ones. It will allow your friend to complile the scenery models into .mdl files and allow either one of you to place them manually while in game. I don't think they actually show up while you are in game but after the bgl file gets compiled and you reboot, they will show up.
The payware option is either EZ Scenery or Instant Scenery, either of which will do exactly what you need and more. If you can spare the money to purchase one of these two programs, it will be well worth your investment and make your life much, much easier.
