Military Markings

Post by airplanedoktor »

Hi

Just wondering where is a good place to get military markings for repaints?

I am trying to teach myself the fine art of repainting and PSP Pro 9, and am curious as to how you guys go about applying markings, especially the more intricate unit/anniversary ones. Are these taken from actual photos and converted?

Thanks,

Darren

I just found these. You won't believe how many markings there are in these files.

Darren,

I use scanned decal sheets I have from model making days, search the net for the site of the actual unit or take them off actual photos from places like Airliners net. Some of the intricate ones have to be hand painted because of the scale of one pixel of paint. Its then a case of standing back to see what it looks like.

Thanks for the link and info, looks like I have a bunch of reading and fiddling to do to get the hang of this.
