have installed CS2 Tracker (FS2004), need to know how to eliminate solid prop from textures and have normal prop view in FSX

wayne, go to this website and download the "texture replacer tool"

http://www.interkultur.de/gossmann/fsx/maiw.php

I think that should do the trick for you.

Oh I see what you mean now. Well I don't know much about FSX other than when you get the black textures, I think you have to flip the alpha channel using a program like DXTBMP.

I am guessing you need to find out which parts are black, find their respective textures, see if they have an alpha channel and if so, flip the black and white parts to their opposite black or white color.

But again, I don't have FSX, I'm only going from what I've read here and there.

Looks like some fun time experimenting, almost like a puzzle. I'll let you know how I make out, but your idea sounds feasible.

That's the way to do it. Using DXTBmp or the ACES Image Tool from the FSX SDK, you export the alpha to your graphics programme and make up your alpha; the black bits will be transparent, white shows the main texture. A pain in the backside but it's worth the effort; FSX is sooo much better than FS9; you guys in the US are about to get FTX NW Pacific - the change is awesome!
