Progress on the A400M site

Post by sprocky »

From our local newspaper:

The Airbus factory in Stade finished the third of four wing parts needed for the first serial production A400M (MSN006). It will be delivered to the Airbus facility at Filton where those parts will be assembled. The complete wings will then be forwarded to Sevilla for the final assembly of the A400M. This part has been the biggest CFRP part (19m x 3.8m; 900kg) ever made in Stade.

After all those recent discussions about this aircraft I wonder if these parts will be used for the first serial production aircraft or if major changes in design will force the need for new wings for MSN006.

If thats the aircraft in the pic, in that view it kind of looks like a C-17 with superprops.

Does kinda look like a knock off of the C-17 with Super props. But it isnt. The wings and fuselage measurements and engineering are totley and vastly different to the keen eye as is its Avionics.
