AI C-135

Post by Astrojet 707 »

Hi,

My name is Mike Stevens, I have been painting and working with the classic MATS AI traffic over at Calclassic for some time now. I was wondering, is there a C-135 stratolifter AI out there anywhere? I see there is a KC-135 tanker, but I didn't see the transport version. I would prefer the older, non fan engined one if such a thing exists. We have AI 707s, as the VC-137 is in our traffic, but we don't have a narrow body C-135.

The classic MATS AI have just recieved a facelift and there are many new paints, mostly Navy and Marines. They have new models, so you can see flaps at takeoff, and such. For those interested in 1950s and 1960s MATS traffic, you can check it out at www.calclassic.com

best regards,
Mike

Mike Project AI has the turbojet version of the C-135 (I think). I know that we've used it as a KC-135E model but that particular model wasn't built with the refueling boom on the back like their KC-135R model was. So even though we used it as the refueling model, it was never technically the same thing as the real deal.

So that being the case, with some repainting, that should give you the look you are going for.

I used to download a lot of repaints from Graham King. I tried several of the links on this site but AVSIM has not recovered all of their library yet.
