What are the rules for the Hot Shot?

Post by tango234 »

Anyone know the criteria for the hot shot competition, I couldn't find it anywhere. I probably won't be elegible because I'm using FSX but I would like to know what the rules are so to speak. I got as far as the picture has to be of ai aircraft and unedited, but other than that I don't know.
Thanks for any answers.
PS (It might be good for the rules to go up as a sticky. Obviously this is up to you :) )

Well, I think there is no rule whatsoever: I usually post some screens in the Screenshots forum and if the bosses like them they are posted on the homepage!
I won 3 times, if I well remember once with a non MAIW-related shot!

There really are no rules to speak of. If we see a great shot, it might get picked as the "hot shot" for that month. We once had a screenshot competition, but less than 1% of the forum users actually submitted a shot. So it obviously is not worth our time to run an actual competition, other sites do that well enough.

So from the few shots that are generally posted each month in the screenshot forum, we try to pick one that promotes military AI in Flight Simulator. FS9 or FSX, it doesn't really matter as long as the subject is a true military AI aircraft, preferably an aircraft from an MAIW package but that is not a requirement.

Thanks for the heads up, now I know whats going on.
Oh, I'm assuming that your "few" shots means before I inundated the screenshot forum with a large dose of my own!! :D (No-I'm not going all out to win-I just thought some people may like to see the pics I took.)

We don't mind if you post lots of shots, as long as they are linked to a third party site and their size is reasonable. Large file sizes (over 150K), even linked to other sites, slow the loading time for the page dramatically making the browsing experience quite annoying. Don't be that guy!
