Repeat Files

Post by msm8378 »

Quick question...

Many of the packages have object libraries included in each one...i.e, jgse.bgl, ggse.bgl, maiw objects....

In reviewing my scenery files, I am finding multiple copies of many of these stashed across the directory. Will it cause adverse effects if I were to try consolidating these "repetitive" files into one Addon Scenery entry? I have almost all of John Stinstrom's sceneries active and each have the jgse or ggse files included with them, but several are more current/updated than others...

Thanks,

Mat

Yes you can consolidate them. It is for this express purpose that packages that use them have a separate scenery folder 'MAIW Scenery Library Objects'. We say in those docs to add the folder to your FS9 scenery library. This way you will constantly have the latest versions of the library, providing that we do our job properly.

It will probably save you quite a bit of space as well.
