Indian Air Force paints - anybody?
Re: Indian Air Force paints - anybody?
Here is a site I found that confirms that 3 are Gulfstream IIIs, Gulfstream SRA-1 technically. It also lists VT-ENR as having a dual serial of K2960, and also believes that K2962 may have been written off in a hangar collapsehttp://geethrees.blogspot.com/2009/06/con-495.html. Whether or not VT-ENR actually wears its military code is not mentioned.
I don't know whether this helps or confuses you.

Re: Indian Air Force paints - anybody?
I'm currently trawling the internet on this topic. All photos of VT-ENR/K2960 show the civilian reg. However, there is no need to repaint as all three G-iii's are in a UGA package. And yes, K2962 was damaged beyond repair in a hangar collapse. This is what I have so far:
IBSF:
ERJ-135BJ
VT-BSF
HAL Hs.748
VT-EAT
VT-EAV
VT-EHL
VT-EIR (aka H2380) No engines. Stored at Delhi.
ARC:
An-32 (Seen operating from the ARC apron, but most likely a detachment from the Air Force)
K2698 (white/grey)
K2708 (white/grey)
K3058 (all grey)
K3073 (all grey)
B707-337C (also based at Charbatia, Orissa)
K2899
K2900 (possibly not active - suggestions that it has been scrapped, however much mis-information exists about these two aircraft. I have even seen threatening replies to posts that featured photos of these aircraft! Ridiculous when you consider that all the info is freely available from simple web searches. Paranoid nationalists...)
GULFSTREAM 3
VT-ENR (aka K2960)
K2961
K2962 (possibly destroyed in hangar collapse)

Re: Indian Air Force paints - anybody?
hello,
sorry about yesterday . there was a problem with my phone line .
i did not read any of the info you'll posted yesterday , so i painted all the g3s .
i bet the ones by UGA do not have those features painted on the fuselage to give that 3d look and a large door to remove the equipment .
i will try and make k-2962 really dirty ,as if it were written off .

so i will now finish the an 32s in white and grey .
sorry again .
thank you .

Re: Indian Air Force paints - anybody?
Sterling work!
I'm just finalising the flightplans (again), after finding out a bit more about where these planes actually fly, and their purpose etc.
Then I'll be adding the new runway and taxiways to my Delhi/Palam AFD file and testing everything.

I do like the Cline, I don't know why I just do. It seems to be an aircraft that is hanging on to two massive engines for life itself.

Re: Indian Air Force paints - anybody?
Definitely the Boeing 707-337C model, formerly the ARC Boeings were part of Air India's fleet. K2900 was VT-DVB "Kamet", and K2899 was VT-DXT "Trishul". Engines are JT3D-3B/7.

Note the long red stripe that surrounds the windows was simply overlaid with the blue airforce colours, and the other red Air India livery was painted white:

Note how the blue stripes curve down to the nose like with the Air India livery:

Re: Indian Air Force paints - anybody?
K2715 no longer has the blue stripe. Just the standard grey, with a light grey nose-cone:

Re: Indian Air Force paints - anybody?
I'm afraid I don't know which model is closest to the real 707-337C. What would be important to me, given the choice, is that the model has good AI credentials - ie. many LODs, a good FDE(?) file for realistic flight characteristics and hopefully some additional animations such as moving flaps etc. But I'm afraid this is an area where I'm out of my depth.
