Alot of time pictures seen on the homepage are shots of work that may be in development. It is a teaser of what's to come down the road.

Lets be honest, guys.
Is there anywhere in the world that we wouldn't like to see be upgraded. We are but few and we get around to what we can, when we can.

What all is left in the USA that hasn't been done yet? Is there a list somewhere? I'm trying to make a comprehensive spreadsheet page of all the MAIW packages for the USA, containing aircraft, bases, units, bases visited, etc. I'm about half finished. It's a lot of work. Having trouble with decompiling the flight plans (I can't find the folder where the 3 TTools text pages are going). Plus I read somewhere there might be problems compiling-decompiing-compiling, and I don't want to screw anything up. I guess I could just reinstall if I had to...

Has anyone made such a list already? As far as I can tell so far, there are no MAIW AFCADs yet for: Altus, Arnold (minor), Bolling, Buckley, CANNON, DOVER, Kirtland, Minot, Moody, Offutt, Peterson (KCOS), Randolph, Vandenberg, and Wright-Pat. I know some of these don't have air units assigned.

Am I missing anything, or including one that has been done already?

You can always check out the map page as a resource.

The package maps are a good general reference.

If you are using TTools to decompile the flight plans, TTools should allow you to pick the folder that the files get decompiled to. Either that or the files will be in the same folder that TTools is in.

Just read this post, and I am sure many of you out there do know this, but Alphasim do a scenery package for Dover AFB complete with AI C-5s that do TnGs and Taxiing etc. Its not too bad, but I am sure you could play with the files and add some other aircraft and plans etc using TTools or similar!

And If I'm teaching how to suck eggs, then feel free to kick me up the virtual arse!

Cheers

However, it is payware-MAIW is freeware so I know which one I would go for. And Alphasim in my experience don't do as good AI models as the team here do. Thats another reason I personnally would not get it.

As an FYI, while Bolling is an AFB, it does not have any aircraft assigned. It is the Air Force's representation in the District of Columbia. It is still an 'airport', listed in AFDs, but that is only because there is a helipad at the corner of a soccer field in the middle of the base. All the runways are long gone. Though alot of the hangers are still around. The adjoining Anacostia Naval Annex (which isn't listed in any AFDs ironically enough) has a good sized helicopter base for a detachment of HMX-1.

Well, that's enough useless information for one afternoon. Back to watching hockey.
