Dream Lifter

Post by Paul »

On Wed. I was lucky enough to see not 1 but 2 Dream Lifters take off from Paine Field with in about 15 min. apart. I took pictures of the first departure from the observation deck of the Boeing Museum. The second one from the parking lot. They both were heading to KCHS.

You could tell they both were empty because it didn't take them long to get off the ground. What a sight to see....

The Dreamlifter always looks like snake after feeding :smt003 Great shots!

I wish I had something to see at XFW two days ago. Unfortunately the A380 ramps were empty :(

Great shots, I live near KPAE and often see them in the air. I guess Evergreen has lost the contract has operators Atlas will take their place.

Thanks guys.....Bosshogg, when do they switch over? On FightAware they still show up as Evergreen...I also saw a EA6B from the VAQ-129 Squadron (Viking) fly a missed approach along with a 777 Egypt Air, 757 UPS, 737NG.

In September Atlas takes over the contract, some think because they are a major buyer of the 747-8. Evergreen is quite upset, since they didn't get a chance to re-bid.

Seeing the Egyptair plane: I had to get up this morning at 4 o'clock to pick up my parents at HAM returning from vacation in Egypt. Passing XFW (Airbus facility) I saw nothing  Just the OLT Fokker F100 (corporate shuttle). Even the delivery ramp for the A320 family aircraft was empty. Now this leads to the question: Do they push all the a/c into the halls when it is f*#&%$g cold (-15°C this morning)?

Seeing that reminds me that I wish that somebody would do some decent scenery and package for the Boeing bases. CAIW anyone?

Steve, I know what you mean there. KPAE would also be a great addition, specially if Boeing gets the contract for the new tankers. The default scenery is pretty bad. The big hanger in the default scenery is no where big enough. For one thing the tail of the 747 sticks through the roof. Plus it would be great to see the large painting on the bay doors.

Don't forget KRNT, where the 737's are built. That would include the new patrol a/c for the Navy.
