The Chinook was Bravo November, the one that escaped in the Falklands

To be honest I would recommend that pilot to get a VC. Considering what he managed to do he deserves it. Either that or every other medal under the sun.

And that helicopter seems to have a history of good luck...

Correct me if I'm wrong but every Chinook I've ever seen has TWO pilots sitting up front. This pilot is a hero, no doubt, but the article makes it sound like he was the only pilot on board. Gotta love the press....(idiots!)

Like the Blackhawk they required 2 pilots. We (US) have had similar accomplishments with guys getting hit and keep flying.
