Souvenirs from Tokyo

Post by james84 »

I came back from Tokyo yesterday evening. Here are a couple of souvenirs...

Unfortunately I spent only a couple of days there and didn't have enough time to go to Akihabara to visit the famous Radio Kaikan building, where different modelling shops are, so I went to Yodobashi at Shinjuku and got Tamiya's long-talked 1/48 Zero at a very interesting price, 2680 Yen, which is about €21.70. Definitely better than the price I would have payed in Italy!
I also found a nice bookshop which also sold some local aviation magazines, so I got JWings. I don't have any idea about what's written on it, but the photos looked great and couldn't resist getting it!
This issue featured articles concerning some JASDF bases and the USAF and USN bases in Japan.
A nice feature: you read it from left to right, like Manga comics! :)

I would advise everyone a trip to Tokyo if you really want to enjoy something unusual and like chaotic cities!

Nice find with the Zero. It's should be a good one.

Thanks for the pix.

I have a Japanese aunt and she tells me everyone should go to Tokyo.

I worked there a few years ago and found the place amazing...
Would love to move out there full time, a great place to live and work!

Really?
I found it extremely chaotic! I think if you don't get used to it you won't feel fine there!
