I've seemed to have encountered a problem as there are no aircraft showing but the AFCADs are there but no aircraft. Any ideas.
Thanks Jon

Jon,

you need to tell us a bit what you have done. Have you:

started with one MAIW package or done many?
converted the flightplans to FSX?
copied them into the scenery\world\scenery folder?
is all traffic missing or only the traffic at the MAIW airport?
Cheers,
Martin

I installed the BAF transport wing, all civil traffic is there, flightplans have been ajusted for FSX yet nothing is there. When adjusting flightplans a message comes up saying. The following airport(s): EB1, EB4 and EB5 are not in "AirportList.dat". The positional information from the decompiled FS9 traffic file has been used.
Thanks Jon

Have you copied the aircraft folders to a location that is registered in FSX?

Martin

Yes all the aircraft are in the correct folders and have checked the FSX config twice.

Have you copied the compiled flightplan into the scenery\world\scenery folder? And you say you don't see any of these aircraft:

* C130 by Henry Tomkiewicz
* A310 & A333 by The Fruit Stand
* ERJ135/145 by AI Malcontent
* Falcon 20 by JBSimulations
* Falcon 900 by Project AI

I take it that your % setting for AI traffic is at least up to 50%?
Cheers,
Martin

Yes that is correct traffic slider at 100% and I can't see anything, it seems bizarre.

Have you succeeded in installing an MAIW package in FSX before, Jon?

I've tried a few and all have had this same problem. I have downloaded the ACG marham which apparently has flightplans converted to fsx and still no aircraft show.
Thanks Jon

Jon,

This sounds like you are missing a step somewhere in the process. I assume you have used my FSX Guide. Let us concentrate on the minimum.

1. Start FSX
2. Remove all MAIW sceneries you have added from the FSX scenery manager
3. Close FSX - Start FSX - Close FSX (now we have a defined state of the scenery library index)
4. Remove all MAIW stuff you have installed into FSX so that we can start all over (aircraft folders, flightplans (make sure you get all), scenery folders).
5. Install one MAIW package into a "Virtual FS" folder so that you have all files
6. Then copy the aircraft folders to the FSX simconnect\aircraft folder (just to rule out that you have incorrectly registered the new MAIW folder)
7. Use AIFlightPlanner to convert the flight plan into FSX format
8. Copy the converted flight plan into the FSX scenery\world\scenery folder
9. Start FSX. You must see the scenery index rebuild
10. Close FSX
11. Copy the airport AFCAD file to the addon scenery\scenery folder (forget about excludes, textures and landclass files for now)
12. Start FSX. You must see the scenery index rebuild
13. Goto the airport - you should see traffic now.

Good luck!! :smt001
Cheers,
Martin

I think its the flightplans although they have been converted it doesn't do a scenery inex rebuild.

So where exactly do you put it and how exactly are the file names of the flight plans (including extension), Jon?

They go in scenery/world/scenery and as FSX suffix.

jon93 wrote:They go in scenery/world/scenery...
that is perfect

jon93 wrote:and as FSX suffix
'traffic_...' at the beginning or '..._fs9' or '..._fsx' at the end only helps you to understand what the file is about. From the flightsim perspective the name could be jon or martin. The extension is what makes the difference. It must be -> .bgl
If this is not the case, then this is the reason for your problem. Can you confirm that they really don't have a BGL extension?
Cheers,
Martin

This is what the file name is and yes it does say that it is a bgl file. Traffic_MAIW_BAF_15th_Air_Transport_Wing_FSX

Just checking-where did you put the aircraft?
For FSX they have to be in the "Simobject"/"airplanes" folder, not "aircraft" as in FS9.

gsnde what is the simconnect/aircraft folder?

I sorted my maiw packs for fsx but have never used that.
I just put the planes in simobjects/airplanes and all is well.

Thanks for spotting this, Tango

I should not snoop into the forum while at work, concentration is too much parted. This should have read SimObjects\Airplanes naturally :oops:

Jon, where have you put them?
Cheers,
Martin

Don't worry I put them in simobjects/airplanes yet still not a thing. This is becoming more of a mystery by the minute.
