Lockheed-Martin Demo Vipers

Post by LEBTowerGuy »

Here is a very rough rendition of 90-0848 used by Lockheed Martin as a demo/chase plane at NAS Ft Worth I did at 4AM this morning (don't worry I will clean it up this weekend). I am going to be painting all of the NFW demo birds as well as some pre-delivery vipers from around the world for my upcomming NFW scenery. Any sugestions as to what nations I should include would be much appreciated.

Agree with MIKE JG, and I would look over at Fencecheck.com for real pics of the various LM Vipers out of KNFW. Looks great for now.

Mike I am definently doing the chase/demo birds, 0848 is one of them. and is there anything I should know about changing the parking radius sizes at the LM plant?

After some more 4AM doodle work, I have cleaned up the tail art on 0848, still a bit of work to be done, but the good news is that 84-1234 (F-16C) has a similar tail art, and should be done quickly. I am having a bit of trouble nailing down the Edwards vipers that are assisting in the flight test. Dutch Wings says 81-0817 is attached, however I have not been able to find a current picture of it at NFW. I have seen pictures of several other Edwards Vipers there, but I don't know if they are attached to LM or just transients. I have also found a picture of the Dutch AF's F-35 support viper with some very nice tail art, are there any other foreign vipers there supporting the F-35 testing?

Looking forward to your KNFW scenery and the Vipers.
IIRC the Dutch AF's F-35 support viper is actually a Danish viper.

This is a new livery to me!
As far as I know, Pakistan is getting new Block 52+ Vipers (twin seaters with dorsal spine and CFTs), and I think there should be some for Greece and Israel, maybe Poland as well.

Thanks James, I remember a while back there was a F-16 in development that had CFTs and a Dorsal Faring, did any of those ever make it to the light of day?

I have finished the 2 Lockheed-Martin demo birds based at NFW 90-0848 and 84-1234, as well as the Royal Danish Airforce ET-210.

Up next will be a few of the orange/white Edwards birds that have been visiting.

Beautiful!
But is the USAF "winged star" on the US Vipers a bit too big?

Think you may be right about that, and I also noticed that the lettering on the tail of the JSF bird is a bit off too, guess there's still a bit of work to be done.
