Flight Plans, Traffic (FSX newbie)
Flight Plans, Traffic (FSX newbie)
Ok Folks, I saw what MAIW can do, I'Ve installed nothing yet cause I got a few Questions before I buy all that stuff, scenerys, 3D models and all that)
ok here we go:
1: Is it possible to create a big Military and Civil traffic files for a whole state , for Example,California
-to have traffic at all millitary bases, (wit the right Squadrons etc) and Civil Airports, so that maybe I fly from Miramar to Nellis and there's is still a lot going on (Jets fly training missions, take off, land, park and all that) ??
2: What happen if i got a big AI traffic plan, install some new scenerys,Airports and new 3D models of planes, will they all show up if i create a new "Mission", or will i have to tell FSX to use all that new stuff?? for example if I got a mission with some Tomcats, and soon I'll install a new 3d model of the Cat, will it automaticaly use the new Model if the existing one will be overwriten, or is it difficult to change the Mission, flight plan and add the new model??
I know that FSX dont has a great and complex mission editor like Lockon FC2 but....
3: Is it possible to add static Objects? trees, buildings, planes, helicopters, ships?
4: Is it possible to add "living" Objects, tell ships where to drive, add cars and add points so that they'll drive around on Airbases stuf flike that??
5: What about damage, does my Jet crash if i hit one another jet, building etc?
6: possible to Add way points like "refuel", "loop points until Bingo", "Touch n go" ??
Ok thanx so far... I hope someone can answer all this cause I don't want to spend a lot on money on scenery packs and all that when to many things will not work

Um...what is it you think you need to buy here? I am very confused.

All the MAIW AI Packages are completely free. You don't need to buy anything.
As for the rest of your queries.
Remember these packages are designed for FS2004 (or FS9) but work perfectly well in FSX. (Have a look in the screenshots forum for any pics taken by me-they are all in FSX). If you run into any trouble with the MAIW packages themselves then ask in the FSX Support thread in the packages support forum (its a sticky). Any general things about AI then ask away here.

Yes, I'm no flight plan expert but I'd say it is easier to do plans for an individual base, squadron or airline as they are smaller and easier to handle.1: Is it possible to create a big Military and Civil traffic files for a whole state , for Example,California
Get the relevent MAIW packages and you'll get plenty of that!-to have traffic at all millitary bases, (wit the right Squadrons etc) and Civil Airports, so that maybe I fly from Miramar to Nellis and there's is still a lot going on (Jets fly training missions, take off, land, park and all that) ??
MAIW does not affect the missions in any way whatsoever.2: What happen if i got a big AI traffic plan, install some new scenerys,Airports and new 3D models of planes, will they all show up if i create a new "Mission", or will i have to tell FSX to use all that new stuff?? for example if I got a mission with some Tomcats, and soon I'll install a new 3d model of the Cat, will it automaticaly use the new Model if the existing one will be overwriten, or is it difficult to change the Mission, flight plan and add the new model??

Yup-search for Airport Design Editor on google and install it-its great fun to use and the support forums are really useful (and it does all of the above)3: Is it possible to add static Objects? trees, buildings, planes, helicopters, ships?
If you make new airports (or AFCADs) use Airport Design Editor then yes. (For an example of how this works download and install the MAIW Nellis AFB package, there are AI humvees driving around in it.4: Is it possible to add "living" Objects, tell ships where to drive, add cars and add points so that they'll drive around on Airbases stuf flike that??
If you turn crashes on in the FSX options menu then yes.5: What about damage, does my Jet crash if i hit one another jet, building etc?
You add Touch and goes into flightplans, but waypoints require you to make a new airport. You need to talk to an experienced flightplanner about those though. (and there are plenty of those people here I can attest to that!)6: possible to Add way points like "refuel", "loop points until Bingo", "Touch n go" ??

The MAIW Packages will NEVER EVER cost anything.

I'd sell you all to Richard Branson to finance my next vacation.

Re: Flight Plans, Traffic (FSX newbie)
MAIW packages could sometimes be affected by installing a new scenery of a base that you already have an MAIW package installed. If you had the MAIW Nellis AFB base installed for instance, and then bought a commercial Nellis AFB (why you would ever bother as ours is amazing anyway is the question LOL) the commercial Nellis would become priority over the AFD, the parking and taxiways, that MAIW designed to allow AI to work at the base. However no MAIW files would be overwritten and you could easily follow the install readme with the MAIW package to ensure that you got back to where you were.Ghostrida wrote:thanx so far sounds promising, I know that the Packages are free but I'm thinking bout to buy some planes, some scenery files and all that, and as long as all those MAIW packages will work after installing new scenerys, airports, Planes, jets, helicopters then its all good, cause many Jets could be replaces with High poly 3d Models, and maybe some Aiports or Airbases too.. might happen that they'll cost some money soon.
MAIW's AI aircraft are completely stand alone, and will not get overwritten by any third party aircraft model. Our models are designed only for AI and as such, flying them as a user will not give perfect results. If you bought a new user model or even a new AI model, it will not overwrite MAIW's model and the only way you could make it be an MAIW AI model is by overwriting the flightplans, something that I do not suggest.
Hope this helps

Re: Flight Plans, Traffic (FSX newbie)
ok... puh its hard to find something perfect with anything included, anyway I'M happy as long as we got civil and military AI traffic mixed up, and a lot of "lifing" going on in FSX, if people improve the ability to lockon targets for every jet,(simulated air to air and air to ground combat), maybe some damage models and weapon physics, add more waypoints, like Air refueling for AI, touch n go, and so on then FSX got a bright military future.
One lil Question left, Does the MAIW packages work at the same Time??? means if I would add the NEVADA package and LEMOORE, would that mean there's AI traffic at Nellis and Leemore at tha same time?? I hope so.
(I still don't got FSX thats why I ask so much, i try to find out as much as possible before i buy it)

Re: Flight Plans, Traffic (FSX newbie)
Ghostrida,
I am no expert on FSX but I can tell you in FS9 that the AI engine has an area about 100nm. So in that 100nm area FS9 will populate the skies with what ever a/c should be in that area. I have a ton of AI loaded on my rig and it is not uncommon for me to see depending where I am at civil and military flights enroute or coming in for landing to the airport I am flying at.
Hope this helps.

ok maddog65, thanx, but that means if you would fly to an Aiport that is 300nm away, that at this particular Airport/Airbase is no traffic and nothing going on? even if I've installed a traffic pack for it?? or do u just mean that fs9 is pre-loading 100nm around u? means that traffic would appear if u fly in that direction always in a range of 100nm around you..

FS will constantly load traffic and scenery around you, so you will always see traffic/scenery etc. at every base you have AI installed for.Ghostrida wrote:ok maddog65, thanx, but that means if you would fly to an Aiport that is 300nm away, that at this particular Airport/Airbase is no traffic and nothing going on? even if I've installed a traffic pack for it?? or do u just mean that fs9 is pre-loading 100nm around u? means that traffic would appear if u fly in that direction always in a range of 100nm around you..
