Found this of my old ship and thought I'd post it here for those chaps that love the Sea King
A British helicopter takes off from USS Laboon.
ATLANTIC OCEAN (April 16, 2010) A British Sikorsky S-61 helicopter takes off from the guided-missile destroyer USS Laboon (DDG 58) after transporting Royal Marines from the 1st Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company (ANGLICO) during exercise Joint Warrior 10-1. Joint Warrior is a semi-annual event off the coast of Scotland to improve interoperability between allied navies.

Re: S-61 Lands on US Navy Ship
Very nice. But the British Armed Forces don't operate any Sikorsky S-61s
Might be a Westland Commando though.

It is indeed a S-61N. But not from the British armed forces, this one belongs to the private company 'British International Helicopters'

Well that clears that up then
I couldn't view the actual picture because the MoD intranet blocks image-sharing sites.

Well that sucks, The DoN blocks some here but they mainly block game sites. I can't look at files from AVSIM but I can from flightsim. Go figure that one out.

It seems almost random here. Some 'adult' picture sites are viewable, others aren't. Some gaming sites are, others not.
I can view ARRSE (the Army RumouR ServicE) but not the wives' equivalent - RearParty!

For the Joint Warrior exercises the HTUFT (Helicopter Taken Up From Trade) are used to transfer personnel and records from shore to ship units primarily by the controlling elements of the exercise. The use of civilian S61 is regularly used for this task.
