Hello, I recently added MAIW Oregon and Washington packages to FSX through the guide and everything works great, I am really impressed with the AI models!
First question is: Is there a way to increase or decrease the amount of MAI traffic in FSX? Because I tried moving the sliders for commercial aircraft and general aviation and it did not seem to affect how much MAI there was at a base, maybe it's a fixed amount?
Second question is: Am I able to add a MAIW aircraft to an airbase that there is not a package for? i.e. I like to fly NAS Whidbey Island in Washington and the current aircraft stationed there are the P-3's, EA-6 Prowler and EA-18 Growler (FA-18 Super Hornet varient). So I wanted to add some just FA-18 aircraft to that base since there is no Prowler or Growler aircraft currently in MAIW. Is this possible to do?
Hello and welcome!
I am an FS2004 user so I can't tell you how to increase the amount of traffic in FSX, but if you run a search on this forum there should be something concerning the installation of packages in that version of the sim.
Second question: definitely, yes. If you have already installed commercial traffic in your Flight Simulator you just need to get the repaints and the models in order to have them as AI traffic with proper flightplans.
If I'm not wrong there is a package dedicated to Whidbey Island and it includes P-3s, just take a look at the map.
As for the Prowler, I'm sure they haven't been made for AI, but you never know, but MAIW has used us to surprises, so there might be some in the future.
The Growler instead is in the works in the "Nick Black" MAIW workshops, there has been a screenshot running along the homepage slideshow some time ago. Nick has already modeled both Hornets and Super Hornets, and there are several different models already available (the NAS Lemoore package could be of your interest, BTW), so just be patient and you'll have a great quality AI aircraft in your sim.
Other West Coast related packages are:
USN and USMC Airliners
USN and USMC Hercules
USN and USMC Special Use Mentors
NAS Lemoore Hornets
Kaneohe Bay MCAS
Elmendorf AFB
Eielson AFB (there should be some update in the future)
Just have a look at the map accessible from the homepage!
Thanx for the reply So would it be possible to take the FA-18's from the NAS Lemoore package and use them on the NAS Whidbey Island base? I assume I would need my own flight plans, but is that possible?
Awsome! So is there a guide on how to use the FA-18 from NAS lemoore and use them for NAS Whidbey Island? Or just a guide on how to set up your own AI using packages from other bases?

Of course!
You need to make your own flightplans, but as Mike said it doesn't take much. Get RPP's flightplan compiler, it's an Excel-based program which allows you to compile your own plans. It works on a random basis, so it's quite suitable for military aircrafts, as they never have a fixed schedule!
The tutorial included is quite complete, but if you need help you just need to ask!
