AI flightplan times not working right with FSX?

Post by Brigs2381 »

Hello! So, I found out that my SimTime is 8 hours ahead of my local time. It would be nice to be able to sync this so that it is exactly equal to my local time that I pick to fly, if possible? Here is a Flightplan I modified for KNUW that is my starting location, I have just some basic F-18 flights starting at 12:00 local time, but when I load up the sim, the aircraft AI are not there ready to depart at 12:00, so I tried 8 hours ahead at 20:00 and also 8 hours behind at 04:00 and and still no AI aircraft. I thought that since my simtime was different than the time I planned out that I would find them at those 8 hour +/- times, but I do not. Here is my flightplan, maybe I have made a mistake for the reason being why I see no AI at the times that I set up?

thanx :)

Also I am using the NAS Lemoore pack for edited FP's to make work for NAS Whidbey Island (KNUW)

AI flightplans are based on UTC - coordinated universal time.
So if you want your AI aircraft to depart from KNUW at 12:00 it has to be 21:00 in your flightplan (UTC+9 hours).

Thanx for the reply! So I changed my AI flightplan time to 21:00 hours and I load up a flight at KNUW at 12:00 hours and I checked my AI explorer, and it says that the aircraft aren't supposed to depart until 04:35 in the morning? Maybe I'm missing something...lol?

He has AI Flight Planner set in the "Local Time" mode. It displays the times in local time based on the UTC offset of each airport - and he has AI Flight Planner set to display non-DST times.

However, AI Flight Planner writes/ reads the correct UTC times from/to the .BGL and .TXT files.

So you do have AI F-18 aircraft on the field flying according to your schedule.

Do you have fuel trucks set up at the airport? The time in the AI flight plan is the time the departure sequence is supposed to start. That include the 'pre-flight' phase in FSX. If the aircraft is in a GATE parking spot, the baggage loader and baggage cart sequence have to run. If there is a fuel truck on the airport, the truck has to be called. Many of the default airports are such that the wait for a fuel truck can be 30 minutes or more in FSX. Only after those actions have been completed, will the aircraft move to the 'Clearance' stage of the flight process, and start to pushback, then taxi a couple minutes later.

As I said on the other thread - your times for arrival and departure are too short for an effective turnaround, especially in FSX.
