U.S. Army Golden Knights C-31A

Post by drpilotw99 »

Hi guys. I have been a member here for a long time but never posted anything. I have a few projects here and there I have uploaded to avsim and stuff but mostly civilian. Available soon at avsim is my repaints I have done for the Dee Waldron F-27A in Golden Knights colors. I feel I must contribute to the hobby that I spend most of my spare time on and download all of the great stuff that others have done.
Thanks MAIW for everything.

At one time I started a custom scenery for Pope AFB (when it was still an AFB). The Golden Knights were going to be part of that AI package that went with it. I don't know if we'll ever finish that project.

I can make that scenery available if anyone is interested in it. It's about 50% finished.

Thanks guys for the kind words. I'm considering doing the DH-6's that the Golden Knights have too. Spare time is at a premium these days with a working wife (registered nurse), 2 teens (boy and a girl), a crazy dog and a soul sucking 2 mortgages, things can get busy! I'm sure you know all about it!
Excuses aside though, I was also toying around with alpha channels for the F-27A's to make the black parts look shiny (they have them looking like mirrors on the real thing). If things work out well I will post here.

Thanks once again.

Doug

P.S. Mike, what condition is the Pope AFB scenery in? Is it usable in current form? I wouldn't mind taking a look at it.

It looks good. If it's ok with you please send me a copy. It would be for my personal use only. My idea of making scenery is starting up Instant Scenery and finding existing objects that look close enough. Custom scenery is so time consuming I don't know how anyone gets the time, but it's much appreciated.

No problem, I'll just post it here when I get home. It's got the control tower and a couple other objects as well. I'll send you the AFCAD file for it as well as the scenery is meant to fit within it.
