I've been a little uncomfortable about taking pictures at airports because I've worried about just this kind of thing, although I don't really think it likely in Texas for many and varied reasons. Still, it is a good idea to be aware of this. Wonder why it wasn't on the national news?

So that town is going to be on the hook for $70 million??? Because of a procedural error by their attorney??

Actually multiple errors. And of course don't forget the actions of the Sheriffs, PD etc. that initiated the whole affair. If you watched the video of the town council meeting, you can see deep levels of arrogance and CYA'ing and so on. To call the original court action frivolous is beyond the pale. In Texas some of those people would have been charged with false imprisonment, and may well have done time for it. For sure, many needed to be fired. The Texas Rangers would probably want to investigate the missing $5,400. Authority gone a muck. This is very disturbing to me!

A complete over reaction by law enforcement to begin with. A simple, "This area is restricted and we're asking people not to stop their vehicles for safety etc... blah blah blah" would have probably sufficed and then they could both go on their way. It sucks that so much money, court time and other resources have to be poured into smoothing out this type of thing. Better safe than sorry?

This makes me sick, apparently not 1 person wearing a badge their knows the rights of individuals.....I myself wear a badge, both in the military & civilian side. I have stopped & chatted with people taking pictures of something similar......but not one of them turned into a "potential" terrorist! I am glad she won, I just wished that the $70 million would be taken out of that areas LE Department because apparently no one there knows how to do their job. The whole department needs to be replaced......this makes me so sick.....another black eye for badge wearers....

Don't believe everything you read. I'm not defending anyone's actions, just saying that often times, the truth is hidden far below the surface.
