Drones -as pictured on the main page?

Post by conundrum »

Are the drones featured in a couple of the pics at the top of the main page done, and which packages would they be found in?

Those drones are still a WIP so consequently they can't be found in anything yet.
Sometimes we include WIP stuff in the rotator so we can excite and torture you at the same time  . Oh alright, the truth is it's a way that we can show that something is actually going on behind the scenes when no packages have been released for a while :D .

I hope to get you guys the Predator B UAV package in the next week or so. That will be the US Customs version that will get released first. They operate out of Grand Forks AFB and Davis Monthan AFB.

The USAF version, the MQ-9B is a little more tricky since those aircraft are based all over the world and flown from different places all over the world. That will probably be paired with it's cousin, the MQ-1 which is also in development, just need to find the time to finish it, with a custom scenery for Creech AFB in Nevada.

As always, there never seems to be enough time for all these projects.

I got so much more done when I was unemployed...... :?

Well as you can see from my signature line, the MQ-1B is progressing nicely. :smt002

Mike
I hope you keep the Predator B's well away from the US/Canadian border :-) and NOT where they are currently flying in real life, right along the dotted line . Mike, from the pic's you've provided you've done a remarkable job in capturing the lines of this machine .The copmound curves around the nose must have been hell playing with the polygrams to get right .Much like sketching a Killer Whale's nose you can go very quickly from looking OK to a disaster .
The Pred's are certainly a long way from the A-6C !!

Yea they were both a bitch to get looking anything remotely close to the real thing. As always getting a good three view has been a difficult hunt. I just recently found a reliable one for the Predator. I still haven't found a reliable one for the Reaper.

Mike you could generate your own 3 views from pic's using Trigonometry. Or use an olde really neat DOS program called P3V .Sadly you need to know how to run DOS and have Win95 AND a PC with a 5.5 floppy drive  .I chucked mine in the garbage 2 yrs. back .

LOL! That's actually what I do when I can't find a good 3 view. Hard part is finding a perfectly straight on image of the aircraft.
