Paul Allen bought a Mig-29

Post by ronniegj »

The a/c was restored at Paine Field and recently took to the air on a test flight. Video here on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fub3Pj2D93E The a/c will be there at Allen's museum for a while, but not for very long. Don't know what he plans for it are after that. Paul Allen has more money then God, and it is a true stroke of luck that he is airplane crazy and willing to make these kind of purchases to preserve flyable examples for future generations to see, hear and smell.

Warning: Although I have never had problems, recently I posted a link to a YouTube video here and one of the European users was hit by an attempt to attack his computer via a virus or something. I am not sure what that was about, but as I say no problems here, check it out at your own risk, and make sure your anti-virus program is up to date. rj

Nice find, very nice looking jet. Hopefully they film the next one with a helmet cam up front, would like to see the start sequence.

Wonder if they'll sell rides in it some day?

Seeing as how it's a two seat version, there is always hope. Just wonder what the insurance picture might be for that possibility? In any case, it was a very smooth flying a/c, with only a little vibration showing up on the film, especially when cutting back on power. You have to admit that this is a damn beautiful airplane. Some just look as thought they are meant to fly - even look as though they are flying when on the ground sitting still. This is one of those!
